As we begin a new year, one of the things on my heart and mind is the sacred privilege and responsibility we have of investing in one another as believers. God gives us to one another for purposes of comfort, to meet the needs of friendship, community, and so forth, but also for much more. Our highest purpose of Christian relation-ships is that we are instrumental in the lives of other be-lievers to help move them into a greater experience of the Lord Jesus. Sometimes we do this without realizing it, but many other times it's an intentional act of loving and en-couraging others. We can engage in Bible studies (which are vital), but true spiritual growth does not take place without intentionally investing in the lives of others.
